Treasurer

In order to make processing checks easier, it would be helpful if you could put what the check is for in the memo section of your checks. Also, if your swimmer has a different last name than what is printed on your checks, please put the name of the swimmer in the memo section.

Please remember that meet fees must be paid BEFORE the meet. As soon as coach turns in the meet entries, JCAC is then responsible for the costs. If your child is sick and doesn't make it to the meet, there are no refunds.

Just a reminder for those that have not already renewed your USA registration for the 2009 season. The USA registration forms and $53.00 are due on December 1, 2008 to allow ample time for processing. Additional forms can be printed from our web site under registration forms. If you have any questions regarding this please contact our registration coordinator John Lynch.

Equipment

We are getting ready to place a JCAC cap order. For personalized caps you must purchase a minimum of 2 caps for $25.00. For those who didn't order the red hoodies at the beginning of the Fall season we will be placing another order for $18.00 each. Please see the bulletin board at the pool for more information. Deadline to order is November 14, 2008. Email Steven at steven.dunning@yahoo.com if you missed out. I will be placing the order early next week.

The Kast-away-swimwear team central has been updated for the 2008-2009 season. Log onto www.kastawayswimwear.com and follow the directions listed below:

  1. Go to www.kastawayswimwear.com
  2. Click in Sign In in the upper right corner of the website.
  3. You must register with kastawayswimwear.com before you can access the team section of the website.
  4. If you have already registered with the new kastawayswimwear.com, enter the email address and password you gave yourself when you registered.
  5. If you have not registered with kastawayswimwear.com, click on Not a member yet? to register.
  6. Fill out all of the required information and click Create Account.
  7. Click on Teams on the links bar. Enter your email address and password and click Sign In.
  8. This will take you to your Teams/Affiliation Login.
  9. Enter the Team Login: JCAC78 (case sensitive)
  10. Enter the Team Password: CUDAS (case sensitive)

Your Team should now be listed on the left side of your screen under Team Affiliations. Click on the JCAC Team to go to team products.

Entertainment/Publicity

JCAC is sponsoring a Jackson area family in need this holiday season through the Our Family Fund Project that began on November 5th and will go through December 12, 2008. What a nice way for the kids to help others in our community. Have your kids do little chores around the house or yard to earn extra money. They look forward to placing their earnings in the big jar at the pool. Last year we raised $338.00 and our goal this year is $350.00. Help us make our goal this year so that we can make the holiday season a little more pleasant for "Our Family."

Dinner anyone? JCAC is planning to go to Dream Dinners on November 20, 2008 at 7 p.m. This would be for parents only. We need a minimum of 8 people that are interested in assembling dinners that you can freeze for those busy nights you just don't feel like cooking. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Jean Bullinger. For more information about Dream Dinners you can preview their website at www.dreamdinners.com. Pre-registration of the dinners that you will prepare is required by November 16, 2008. You can e-mail Nichole Allen at nichole.allen@dreamdinners.com or call her at 817-0908.

The JCAC holiday party is Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. at the JHS pool. Pizza and drinks will be provided and a fun swim practice to follow.

Coach Briggs

Congratulations to the State qualifiers on the Jackson High School Girls' Swim Team. Hannah Larson qualified in the 100 backstroke and Audrey Andrews, Hannah Larson, Cassie Hayward, and Kara Weaver qualified in the 200 free relay. The alternates will be Sarah Cooley, Marnie Nicolaus and Kelsey Stieber.
