Where can I find information?

In the deck box each family has a file folder. In your family folder you will receive communications from the Club i.e. meet information, meet results, flyers, and ribbons won at swim meets, etc. Please check your family folder at each practice or at least weekly.

In addition, there is a "Treasurer" folder as well as "Registrar" and Secretary" folders. Please place session fees, USA swim registration fees and meet fees in the Treasurer folder. If you have anything you would like placed in the monthly newsletter, please place it in the "Secretary" folder. We are always looking for interesting stories about our swimmers to share with the team, including birthdays, special awards, etc.

Please read your TEAM HANDBOOK. It is filled with valuable information.

Also, frequently check this web site. The newsletter and calendar are available here. Hard copies will be available in the "Secretary" folder. If you prefer to receive a hard copy of the newsletter and/or calendar please contact the Secretary.

Please bookmark this site to obtain last-minute information under the "Late News" link.  On the web page is a link to the USA Swimming Organization as well as the State organization. When you join JCAC, you are automatically members of both. Please visit these sites for interesting information on swimming, diets, progress of national and Olympic hopefuls, etc.

What equipment does my child need?

Required equipment consists of a pull buoy, fins, hand-paddles and goggles. Girls must wear a swim cap. Our swimsuit is the G-Force by Speedo. You may purchase your own equipment and swimsuit. Contact our Equipment Chairperson with any questions. Some families may have equipment to sell that a swimmer has outgrown. You may place an ad in our newsletter.

How can I help?

We ask that all parents volunteer to work at any scheduled home meets. These are a large undertaking and require a lot of help.

If you have not yet signed up to help for this season, please contact Gareth Zebley.

You can help make the team even better by participating on one of our parent committees. We strongly urge you to sign up for one of the following committees. Participating in committees helps keep you informed and makes the team more cohesive and fun. Please contact the parent listed to find out how you can help. Please drop a note in the secretary file telling us which committee you signed up for.

  • Swim Meet Committee - Contacts parents regarding upcoming swim meets. Will help organize home meets, arranging for timers, marshalling, etc. Will help organize concession stands at home meets.
  • Social and Hospitality Committee - Arranges parties for Christmas, Annual Meeting, provide snacks for swimmers at-home meets.
  • Swimsuit and Equipment Committee - Organizes a group order of suits and equipment twice per year to obtain group rates.
  • Publicity Committee - Contacts newspapers, radio stations, schools, churches to spread the word about our team. It is the JCAC Board policy not to solicit members from other swim teams, but to provide information to those who express interest.
  • Newsletter Committee - We love to read interesting stories about our swimmers' achievements in all areas, not just swimming. Please contact Susi Ward for any information to be included in the newsletter.
  • Website Committee - Please contact Suzy Stacey regarding the website.
